Samsung SMART Signage is screen we recommend for digital signage use with PinToMind.

Let us jump straight into the six main reasons to choose Samsung SMART Signage for PinToMind:

  1. On a Samsung signage screen, everything you need is built into the screen itself. This means that it is quick to get started, and easy to set up the screen to display PinToMind. We deliver good and detailed setup guides for most Samsung signage screens on our support pages.

  2. It looks great! A Samsung screen has a slim design and is designed to be mounted directly on the wall. Since everything is built into the screen, no setback box is required, and if you have Wi-Fi, you only need one cable going to the screen. Of course, sharpness, colors, and brightness are excellent on a Samsung screen.

  3. An automatic timer is built into the screen, allowing you to preset when it should turn on and off. PinToMind display will start automatically upon reboot. In other words, you rarely need to do anything with the screen after everything is switched on and set up.

  4. Samsung has a wide range of screens, both in terms of size and quality. This means that anyone will be able to find a Samsung screen that suits their needs, whether it is a huge screen in a shopping center or a smaller one in the kitchen at home, whether it is supposed to be working around the clock or just during lunch breaks. These screens can be used in both portrait and landscape orientations.

  5. Even the cheapest Samsung screen is of high quality. Samsung offers software updates for their screens for the first three years from the launch date, but most screens can last much longer than that.

  6. We have extensive experience over many years with how PinToMind works on these screens. They simply work, and prove a magnificent stability. The staff at PinToMind use Samsung both at work and privately, and we know the screens well. Therefore, we can also provide good support for the use of them.

Which quality should you choose?

The model number of a Samsung screen indicates what type of screen it is. We recommend using what is called the Q-series, which is made specifically for digital signage. These screens have model numbers starting with Q and are divided into three subcategories indicating software capacity, operating time, brightness and general quality:

  • Basic Line (QB) are the simplest and cheapest models, with the lowest brightness (350 nits). For most of our customers, this will be more than sufficient to display content from PinToMind, but the screen software may be a bit too weak to display large amounts of video content, especially if videos are to be streamed or updated frequently. These screens are not made to be working 24/7, but up to 16 hours per day (16/7). QB is available in sizes 24” to 85”, and has the following designations (with links to product pages at Samsung): QB24C (only 250 nits), QB43C, QB50C, QB55C, QB65C, QB75 og QB85C.
  • Medium Line (QM) is not very different from Basic Line but has better brightness (500 nits), and can manage a 24/7 display. These screens can also experience some limitations displaying large amounts of video content. The expected lifespan of these screens is longer than for a Basic screen. QM is available in sizes 32” to 85”, and has the following designations (with links to product pages at Samsung): QM32C (only 400 nits), QM43C, QM50C, QM55C, QM65C, QM75C og QM85C.
  • High Line (QH) are the models with the highest brightness (700 nits), and the longest expected lifespan. These are screens that can handle being switched on around the clock, and are especially recommended if you want to display a lot of video content on the screen. These models are also slimmer than models in the other categories. QH is available in sizes 43” to 85”, and has the following designations (with links to product pages at Samsung): QH43C, QH50C, QH55C, QH65C og QH75C.

After the first two letters of the model number you will find a number indicating the screen dimension, for example 65. The letter that comes after this (e.g. A, B, C) indicates which edition the screen has. Normally, a letter early in the alphabet will indicate that it is an early and older edition of this model. In other words, for example, QH65B would be a newer edition than QH65A.

What size should you choose?

In most cases, the purpose of a signage screen is to make the content as accessible and eye-catching as possible. As a rule of thumb, the screen should therefore also be as large as possible. For most people, however, price and the size of the available wall space will be the deciding factors when choosing a screen. You also need to consider whether you want a portrait or landscape display - both are possible with signage screens from Samsung.

Samsung’s signage screens are offered in sizes from 13 to 85 inches. Most of our customers choose 55” or 65” screens. These sizes can fit both in the canteen, the library, the hallway at work, or in the living room at the nursing home. Since these are the screen models with the largest production volume from Samsung, value for price will be good for these sizes.

What about pricing?

Prices will naturally be higher for larger screens and higher quality, and correspondingly lower for smaller screens or lower quality. Normally, you should expect to pay around USD 1000 for a 55” screen in the Basic Line.

To get an exact price, you need to contact a reseller. You will find PinToMind resellers in some European countries, who can assist you with this. In countries where there are no dedicated PinToMind resellers, we recommend contacting a Samsung supplier.
