– I can’t be everywhere, so being able to manage it all from one place makes a huge difference. I can easily publish information that’s relevant across our six libraries, while also adapting the content when necessary, smiles Sara Beskow.

Sara is a librarian at Lillestrøm Libraries in Norway. With six busy library locations, there’s always something to share – from upcoming events and book recommendations to practical information for visitors.
PinToMind helps them keep it all up to date across 17 screens throughout the municipality.
Keeping every library up to date
Some information needs to be shared across all six libraries, while other content is only relevant to one location. Information often needs to be updated quickly too. For Sara, PinToMind is first and foremost about making everyday work easier.
– The great thing about PinToMind is that it’s so easy to use, she says. – We’re all different, but everyone here can easily publish information on the screens.

For visitors, this means the information they see is up to date and relevant. For staff, it provides better control over what is displayed and where. And because several people can contribute and publish content, communication doesn’t depend on just one person.
Sharing useful and varied information
There’s plenty happening at Lillestrøm Libraries throughout the year. The screens help promote events, services and seasonal content – from book recommendations and campaigns to useful information visitors might need during their visit.
– We have well over a thousand events a year, so we need to get the word out. And there’s so much more we want people to know about too, from e-books and meeting rooms to printing services.

The screens are also used for everyday information such as opening hours, borrowing rules and other practical messages. This makes them useful both for content planned in advance and for information that needs to be made visible right away.
Placing digital signage where people will see it
For Lillestrøm Libraries, it’s not just about what’s on the screens, but where they’re placed – so people actually notice them. Screens are placed at entrances, near service desks, on different floors and in areas where people naturally stop or spend time.

At the main library, for example, there’s a larger screen by the service desk – an area where visitors often gather to ask questions and get help.
– It was important for us to have an extra large screen in this area because this is where people sometimes have to wait. It gives them something interesting to look at in the meantime.
The library also has screens facing a busy bus stop outside the building. This allows them to reach both visitors who are already inside the library and people passing by.

Helping more people discover what’s happening
For the librarians in Lillestrøm, PinToMind has become an easy way to keep all six libraries up to date while giving visitors relevant information wherever they are. It helps visitors discover more of what the libraries have to offer – from upcoming events and useful information to services people might not know about.
