Improvement of school information flow

On the Christian High School at Haugalandet in Norway, they have used PinToMind actively for many years. They were so pleased with this, that when they moved to a brand new building outside of Haugesund last fall, they upgraded to several more, centrally located information screens.*
All those who come to this high school, are met with a large welcome screen in the entrance area. It fits in really well, as the screen is customized in its design to fit the school’s orange profile colour. The screen shows the way to different parts of the school, and provides relevant information to pupils and visitors. For instance, it points you in the direction of the second floor if you are looking for the staff room.
Once you get up there, you are met by another information screen in the open area for free activity outside the classrooms. There is a lot going on here during the breaks, and the screen again provides helpful and varied information to everyone.
- The most popular post is the one with the weekly lunch menu, we are told by a happy group of girls enjoying today's lunch: tomato soup with pasta and bread rolls.
In the school’s stylish and modern cafeteria, we find the largest screen. It is centrally located, which makes it very easy for the pupils to see all the information that scrolls through.
– The most popular post is the one with the weekly lunch menu, we are told by a happy group of girls enjoying today’s lunch: tomato soup with pasta and bread rolls. One of the girls adds that one can access the lunch menu also from home, through the mobile app, PinToMind Go, and this way one can plan which days to bring a packed lunch.
The girls all agree that the digital bulletin boards at the school are useful and think that they manage to see most of the information that is displayed on them. This is confirmed by the IT manager at the school, Geirmund Monsen. He experiences that the pupils notify him very quickly if something has been published that is not correct. - I take this as a sure sign that they are reading the information that I put out there, he says with a smile.
He says that PinToMind is easy to use, and points out how great it is that one can customize the design and colour, and also schedule the content to be displayed at the right times.
- Our experience is that PinToMind helps us bring attention to what is important to us, in a positive way, says Geirmund. - All in all the service contributes to a better information flow in our everyday life at school, he concludes.
In addition to the menu in the cafeteria, the digital bulletin boards are used to display all kinds of content. Reminders of theme-days or special happenings is what it gets used for most, but the school nurse also uses the information screens actively. The pupils get notified regarding when the school nurse will be at the school, and she also adds reminders and encouragment for them to contact her.
